It is clear that Motlatsi loves her freedom and that she has designed her journey to retirement carefully and is reaping the benefits of her decisions.
Motlatsi opens the conversation by emphasising that, “You don’t have to worry about what tomorrow brings if you have planned properly.” She often refers to this key point as she shares her thoughts on the various factors that have led her to a comfortable retirement.
Our conversation began with a broad overview of the key criteria she used in selecting 10X Investments as her financial provider.
Based on her own advice from her previous employer, she says she “drew up a list of criteria that I believed the investment company I go with would have to satisfy”.
Motlatsi began interviewing the companies on her list and “allocated points based on the answers I was getting from each of them”. After a set of interviews, both online and in person, she added up the points, and 10X came out as the number one choice out of the four on her shortlist.
