After 10 years in Asia running the Middle East and SE Asia businesses for Ninety One (formerly Investec Asset Management), Tobie van Heerden joined 10X as CEO. Tobie is an actuary and, during his time abroad, he completed a Leadership Excellence through Awareness and Practice qualification from INSEAD, the global leadership school. He plans to apply his skills and experience gained overseas to help to make wealth creation more accessible and attainable for South Africans. Prior to moving to Asia, Tobie was head of Investec Asset Management’s South African Institutional Business. He has also held positions at Alexander Forbes and African Harvest Fund Managers.
Anton recently returned to South Africa from the UK, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in asset management, both in global investing and building a business. He was drawn back home by a passion to build a business that contributes to society and makes investing simple and accessible. He was previously CIO of Legal & General Investment Management, based in London. In his time at LGIM, he led a team of 350 people across multiple regions and asset classes, and played a key role in transforming the firm into a $1.3 trillion global asset manager. At 10X, Anton draws on well-established global themes, such as sustainable investing and indexing strategies, to drive 10X’s investment offering forward.
Combining a geography degree with a passion for innovative technology, Caroline Naylor-Renn found herself exploring uncharted territory when she entered the financial services industry in London. In the more than 20 years since, Caroline has worked around the globe, building and running digital investment platforms in 10 countries. Prior to joining 10X, Caroline led global teams in several leading financial institutions, including INN8, HSBC Bank, Skandia and Old Mutual, working on both customer and adviser-led propositions. In 2019, Caroline was named as one of the International Adviser Top 100 most influential people in the global wealth management industry.
Tim has vast experience in driving rapid growth and expansion and is excited to be leading the finance team to help 10X meet our ambitious targets. Before joining 10X, Tim was the CFO at ADS Securities LLC in Abu Dhabi, Regional CFO at ICAP in Singapore and the Group Financial Controller at Mouchel plc in London.

Chris is skilled in index portfolio management, asset allocation and investment solution design. He has a Master's degree in Finance from the University of Cape Town and is a CFA Charterholder. Prior to joining 10X, Chris worked as an investment analyst for a family office, where he was involved in developing and implementing a global asset allocation framework as well as monitoring portfolio risk and performance. Chris has built the investment capability at 10X with responsibility for both portfolio management and product development, launching multiple new funds and investment products.
Before joining 10X, Bianca gained external audit experience in financial services and asset management at EY Cape Town, as well as offshore experience at the company’s office in Boston in the U.S. Before that, she worked as a tutor and lecturer in Corporate Governance and Auditing at the University of Cape Town. Bianca is responsible for managing the cashflows and tracking error of the 10X portfolios. She is also responsible for performance reporting.
Bokang, an experienced quantitative analyst and research professional, joined 10X from Stanlib Index Investments. He is skilled in statistical data analysis, portfolio management and risk management in both asset management and capital markets. Bokang has a Master's degree focused in Financial Mathematics from North-West University. He has a keen interest in emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning and robotics.
Prior to joining 10X, Kelin worked as a management consultant in the financial services industry at Monocle Solutions, where he gained experience in exchange traded products, capital markets, risk management, regulatory compliance and strategy. At 10X he is responsible for developing market-ready investment solutions.
After starting her career in financial services as a consultant at Investec in 2008, Ishani moved into business development after gaining technical skills as an employee benefits consultant. Thoroughly enjoying building relationships with clients meant she found her niche in the field of distribution quite early. Ishani combines a high level of empathy and enthusiasm with expertise. Previous positions include Senior Business Development Manager at Old Mutual Corporate and at Allan Gray, where her role included managing and developing relationships with IFAs. Ishani has a B Com (Finance and Management) and Advanced Postgraduate Diplomas in Investments and Employee Benefits.
After starting his career as a "number-cruncher" in the actuarial departments at Alexander Forbes and Glenrand MIB, Johan started presenting reports to clients and soon realised his passion was in helping members and employers achieve their retirement goals, and he moved into the employee benefits side of the business. A Certified Financial Planner®️, Johan has a BCom (Insurance Science) from the University of Pretoria and a post-graduate Diploma in Financial Law from the University of the Free State. Before joining 10X, Johan was Head: EB Consulting Technical GTC (previously known as Grant Thornton Capital) for 12 years. In this role he consulted to standalone funds and employers in umbrella funds as well as providing technical support to various departments on all aspects of employee benefits.
