Can I deduct RA contributions against living annuity income?

Question:

Does living annuity income qualify for RA tax benefit ie non retirement funding income , so can I continue to get the benefit when paying RA with living annuity income ?

Answer:

Alan, Yes, you can deduct RA contributions against living annuity income. Note that the concept of "non-retirement funding income" falls away on 1 March 2015. You can then deduct up to 27,5% of your gross remuneration/taxable income iro retirement fund contributions (including retirement annuity).
