Am I entitled to a once-off withdrawal after transferring to a preservation fund?

Question:

Good evening, If I sign an AOD for overpayment with my former employer will I still be entitled to a once-off withdrawal after transferring to a preservation fund. Regards Lota

Answer:

Lota, Yes, but your administrator will have to make it clear to SARS that the withdrawal relates to a legitimate overpayment of a retirement fund contribution by your former employer (ie a reversal of that) and not to a withdrawal. But if you merely owe your former employer some money (eg for a loan), and you are using your pension fund to repay this, then this will count as your one withdrawal.
