Do I need to re-apply for UIF if I move to another city?

Question:

If I receive UIF I withdraw monthly and move to another town, do I need to re-apply or do I just go withdraw as normal in the new town? Thanks, Deon

Answer:

Deon,

Receiving UIF benefits comes with responsibilities, such as registering as a worker-seeker and making yourself available for re-training and/or work. If your benefit is paid directly into your bank account, you either need to be prepared to travel back when required, or you need to re-register in your new city. It is however best to get answers to such questions from the responsible organisation, ie from a nearby labor center.
