Can I access my retirement annuity before the maturity date?

Question:

Good day. I have a retirement annuity that matures when I turn 65. Is it possible to access these funds at any age after 55, or do I need to wait until I am 65?

Answer:

Steve,

You can access these funds at any time after you turn 55. However, because you have contracted to contribute until the age of 65, you may incur an early termination charge if you cash out before then.
