Can I make additional lump sum contributions to my RA?

Question:

Good morning, As a member of the retirement annuity fund, can I make additional lump sum contributions to my RA on an on-going basis, over and above my monthly debit order? For example, my annual bonus or any excess cash I wish to invest? What would the related cost be? Thank you for your help! Kind Regards, Brendan

Answer:

Brendan,

With 10X (us) you can do this at no cost, but you would have to check with your specific fund administrator to see if this is permitted in your fund. But most funds do permit at least year-end top-up payments. There may be a minimum stipulation as to the size of the lump sum payment (eg R5 000 with 10X).
