Can I ask for an early provident fund withdrawal?

Question:

My provident fund is taking longer than 2 months to pay out. Can I ask for a partial provident fund withdrawal on that money in the meantime?

Answer:

Mariska,

In theory, your money should stay invested (at least in cash) until just before your provident fund withdrawal,  so you should automatically receive interest until your provident fund pay-out. Whether this happens is another question. You need to follow up with your administrator to ensure you receive the interest due to you.
