Can I borrow from my UIF?

Question:

can I borrow from my UIF money while still employed? It takes how long to get your money in case of resignation?

Answer:

Nombuso, No, you cannot borrow from the Unemployment Insurance Fund. This only pays out if you involuntarily lose your job. You also cannot borrow from your retirement fund. It takes between 4 and 12 weeks for the retirement fund to pay out if you resign. But if you do that, you will have no job and no retirement savings.
