Can someone lodge a complaint against the trustees' decision on a death benefit?

Question:

My daughter was granted 100% of the benefit of her dad's provident fund by the trustees, but the mother-in-law objects. What do we do?

Answer:

Soso,

The trustees will, first and foremost, look after the deceased's financial dependants. If the mother-in-law believes that the trustees have not considered all the financial dependants, then she needs to lodge a complaint, first with the fund administrator, and failing this avenue, the Pension Funds Adjudicator.
