Does a preservation fund qualify for a tax certificate?

Question:

Does a preservation fund qualify for a tax certificate

Answer:

Thabo, You may require a tax (membership) certificate from a preservation fund to prove that you did transfer your retirement fund money to a preservation fund. However, beyond that, there is no need for tax certificates as you cannot make contributions to a preservation fund and therefore there are no tax deductions you can claim. The income you earn in your preservation fund is also not taxable.
