How can I access the money in a Guardian Fund before age 21?

Question:

my provident fund money is due when im 21 years , can it be issued out due to my terminal diagnosis ? (the treatment is costly) or should i seek legal help ?

Answer:

Mpho,

A provident fund is an employer-sponsored retirement fund. It seems unlikely that you belong to a provident fund, and they certainly do not fall due at age 21. If you are referring to a Guardian Fund, you must appeal to the Trustees if you need to access your money urgently before the age of 21.
