How can I find out what the value of my retirement savings are?

Question:

I'd like to find out how much my pension will be more or less if I resign now, after 20 years service. And what is the best advice to do with that pension money? To take it or transfer to another pension fund/scheme.

Answer:

Alta,

You need to contact your Fund administrator, or refer to your latest benefit statement, to see the value of your retirement savings. If you belong to the GEPF, you need to contact them for this information.

We are not able to provide you with financial advice, as this would require us to do a financial needs analysis. As we know nothing about your personal and financial circumstances, you would need to speak to a financial adviser about this.

The information and answers supplied in this section do not constitute advice as defined by the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 37 of 2002.
