How do I claim my deceased son's MIBFA death benefit?

Question:

Good afternoon, My Son past away almost 4 years ago and he worked in the metal industries. If possible to advise how I could claim his benifits. Kind regards, Shereen

Answer:

Shereen, You would have to contact the fund administrator (MIBFA), to find out if his benefits were paid out or not, and how you would go about doing so. Typically, death benefits are paid out within a year, and if no dependants are found the money is paid into the estate or transferred in an unclaimed benefits fund.
