How do I claim my provident fund with former employers?

Question:

I have worked for two different company in 2005 & 2006 respectively. I want to know where to start to claim my provident fund . I left both company without claiming the provident fund. Yours Abel

Answer:

Abel, You need to contact the fund administrator for each of your former employer's funds. Your former employers (the HR department) should be able to point you in the right direction. You must then contact the administrator and they will explain the withdrawal process to you, and give you the forms you need to fill in. Seeing you left these companies a long time ago, your money may by now have been transferred into an Unclaimed Benefits Fund.  In that case, the fund administrator should be able to point you in the right direction.
