How do the surplus funds of a deceased member get allocated?

Question:

Do the deceased children have any claims of the deceased surplus funds even when the deceased spouse is still alive?

Answer:

Gadija,

It is not a question of claim but of need and financial dependency. The trustees will allocate the money as they see appropriate, and according to need. If the children are adult and self-supporting, they will most likely award the surplus to the deceased's spouse; if they children are still minors, they would share in the surplus.
