Unclaimed retirement funds -Bidvest. I was contacted round 19th May 2015. - submitted all the documents that was requested I then received an email stating that all the documents were in order n that I should receive payment within 6 wk its now 12 wks within that time I was given a membership number also informed not to call for updates rather email an since then I have sent 2 emails with no reply. Which is the best way forward. Kind regards.

Denise, Please refer to our blog on how to claim your pension fund benefit. Please refer to the "What if my pay-out is delayed" section. It strikes us as unusual that you were given an instruction not to phone. You should at least confirm with the administrator (or Bidvest HR) that you have submitted the documents to the correct address, and that this is not some scam to got hold of your personal details. If the address is valid then the hold-up may relate to the tax directive from SARS. Are your tax affairs in good order? If yes, and this is merely a case of poor administration, then you can lodge a written complaint with the fund, and if they do not respond, then you can lodge a formal complaint with the Pension Funds Adjudicator.
