What must I do if I want to use my provident fund to buy a house?

Question:

What must I do if I want to use my provident fund to buy myself a house, because I'm struggling to get help from the banks, and I've got a big family.

Answer:

Victor,

Such loans are permitted by the Pension Funds Act, but you also need to check your provident fund's rules, to see if your fund permits such loans specifically (very few do). So you need to contact your HR department, for a copy of the Fund rules, and the necessary application forms, if applicable.
