What is going to happen to my belated parent's pension?
My father worked for Spoornet in Grahamstown. When he retired he received his pension every month and passed away in July 2013. Are we, his children/family, now going to receive his monthly pension? And also, is there money or a benefit from him that the family can get on his behalf?
Can I make a withdrawal from my preservation fund before retirement?
Hi, I am 56 years old, still working, in financial trouble and have a paid-up retirement annuity that has R185 000 in the fund, and a provident preservation fund that has R43 000. If I withdraw the full amount from the provident preservation, will I pay no tax? The term of the preservation is 2018. Also, what is the best thing to do - should I retire from the retirement annuity and invest the tax-free lump sum, or should I leave it until the retirement age of 60? Confused.

Good day. How do I claim the surplus of my late spouse/husband? He worked for Ampros Anglo American in Diagonal Str Jhb. He worked there for 21 years until he passed away on 1992-10-06. The pension fund administrator, then Southern Life, is Momentum-Metropolitan. Do I claim the surplus from them? Please advise on what to do.

Hi, I worked for my previous employer for over a year. I started on 9 July 2012 and left on 30 August 2013. Should I not have received my provident fund from this company, because they have all my details & documents. How do I approach them to pay out my funds? Please help.
